Aisling Cliodhnadh Sullivan (born on 16 March 1984) is also known as Aisling bea, is an Irish comedian actor, writer and director. Bea began her stand-up comedy career in 2011after having appeared as a guest on a variety of Irish TV shows as well as British series since 2009. In 2012 she was on sitcoms or sketch comedy. In 2012, she was the first woman ever to win the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea was awarded the award to honor her father. Aisling Claiodhnadh Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, from Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who committed suicide at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she was thirteen. In honor of the man she loved, Bea chose the stage name Bea and in 2017 published an article on suicides and deaths that affected her family for The Guardian. Bea's mom Helen She is a jockey-trainer and former pro jockey was in charge of the care of her daughter and Sinead. The family was awed by horses, race meetings and racing. As a young girl, Bea worked as an instructor for the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young age that she was not interested in the racing industry for a profession, but instead enjoyed performing.
