Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in TV and film is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born the only child to Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her professional career in the show business at an early age. When she reached the age of sixteen, she had secured the leading roles in numerous TV dramas. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. Downfall was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial great success. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress.
